THE DANCE WORKSHOP is located in Northern Westchester County (Croton) in a modern, state of the art facility, with a total of two studio spaces, sprung floors, and vaulted ceilings. We have a private dressing area for the dancers as well as a waiting area for parents and family members.
At THE DANCE WORKSHOP, children will learn to dance according to their personal ability in an environment that is caring and conducive to achievement. Peggy Izzo is a trained professional who is celebrating 40 years as the owner and director of THE DANCE WORKSHOP. Peggy’s background includes study in classical ballet, lyrical ballet, tap, jazz, Broadway dance and tumbling. Peggy passed these skills on to her youngest daughter Danielle who now works with her at THE DANCE WORKSHOP. Danielle and Peggy are a mother daughter team that prides itself on its original choreography.
Class sizes vary according to age. Group, private and semi-private lessons are available. Classes are one hour in length while private and semi-private lessons are 30 minutes long. Private and semi-private time are typically scheduled before or after class sessions. Due to the large demand of private and semi-private time, a waiting list is set up on a first come basis and will be filled according to when a time becomes available
Classes begin in September and proceed through June, culminating in our year-end recital at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY. Our recital is generally held the first weekend in June. Costumes are ordered in December and payment is due by mid December.
The Dance Workshop is dedicated to excellence in dance training. We aim to provide students with the opportunity to learn the art of dance in an atmosphere that is inspiring and conducive to achievement. It is our goal to foster a love of dance while building individuals self-esteem, self-worth, and self-discipline. We are dedicated to developing talent at both the recreational and pre-professional level and our program is focused on helping every student reach their own personal potential.
